On our way home from a weekend getaway I spoke with our dog sitter. She told me that Shasta, our two year old Black Lab/Collie mix, was missing.
By the time we got home, Shasta was a celebrity on social media. Friends and neighbours came to our home to help look for him. People were reposting.
We searched from the time we got home at 3 PM until I lost my voice at around 10:30 PM (from calling his name out in the fields, orchards and vineyards that surround my home).
On Monday morning we made flyers. We posted them around our small town. We placed them in mailboxes, and let me tell you when you are looking for a member of your family, even a small town can feel so big.
This is the story of how we found Shasta and how he reminds me that it really doesn’t have to look perfect!
P.S. Hope to see you on FB Live on Thursdays, 2.00PM PST! Together we are more persistent than persistent pain! Get access here.
